SINGAPORE (Feb 28): While many are seeking imperfect perfect objects, others still want furnishings and objects that fit into their minimalist home. Here are some trends to look for:

Georg Jensen

Danish designer Sebastian Holmbäck has created a sleek collection Lumis for Georg Jensen. The collection features a snuffer, hurricane lamps in two sizes and tea light holders (pictured). The shapes are smooth and organic. A few of these elegant items around your home will elevate your décor style. Bloom Botanica by Helle Damkjær is a minimalist collection that features vases (pictured) and candleholders with a distinct design style that highlights steel leaves that encircle and frame every flower arrangement.

Toto

Known for its washbasins and designer toilets, Toto offers a myriad of colours and finishes for taps that will brighten up any home. Design elements include sharp edges that are paired with curves and handles that are asymmetrically shaped like a small stone. These taps are not just aesthetically pleasing, but functional too, as they provide an abundant flow of water with a lever that allows for water control.

Oculus

In a conventional home, the mirror is always hung on the wall or leaning against it. Media and installation artist Andrea Mancuso designed this Oculus mirror as a sculptured object with an enigmatic shape that is a sphere with a circular opening, and inside lies the mirror. The perception of its shape varies according to the viewpoint, creating a hypnotic play of reflections.
