Porsche Singapore's Roughroads showcase at Guoco Midtown Square takes fans of the brand off the beaten path with the 911 Dakar and Cayenne

Singapore - Happening from 14 May to 12 June 2024 (from 10am to 8pm daily) at the Guoco Midtown Square, Porsche Singapore takes us on a walk on the wild side with the Roughroads showcase.

Glamping takes on new meaning as Porsche pays tribute to the Great Outdoors, with a Porsche Cayenne equipped with a Tequipment Roof Tent, which transforms it from sports-SUV to cosy camping retreat when night falls.

The Roof Tent features a comfortable high-density polyfoam mattress, with breathable cotton blend walls that offer a pretty plush camping experience.

When not in use, the Roof Tent is folded into an exclusive hardcase developed at the Weissach Development Centre and co-designed by Studio F.A. Porsche in Zell am See.

However, the true spirit of adventure is best embodied by the star of the display – the 911 Dakar – which makes its first official appearance in Singapore.

Boasting full Rally Design Package livery and accoutrements, Porsche's terrain-conquering raised 911 variant is inspired by the brand's 1984 Dakar-demolishing champion.

In addition to a specifically-tuned chassis, the all-wheel-driven 911 Dakar features reinforced underbody protection, front/rear steel tow hooks, and loads of CFRP components.

Its 3.0-litre biturbo flat-six produces 480hp and is matched to an 8spd PDK dual-clutch gearbox, which will see it punch from 0-100km/h in 3.4secs.

The car sits on bespoke Pirelli off-road tyres and features a driver-focused cabin with bucket seats and rear-seats-delete.

Naturally, as an experienential automotive lifestyle hub, cafe partner Baker and Cook has curated safari-themed menu items for visitors to the Roughroads showcase that can be ordered from the Cafe Carrera, which includes a Truffle Trek Pizza and Flame-Grilled Steak Sandwich.

And what's an experience without the merch to show for it? Porsche Lifestyle will offer a host of Porsche Roughroads merchandise to celebrate the occasion.

As Ferry Porsche once said, “The 911 is the only car that you can drive from an African safari to Le Mans, then to the theatre and onto the streets of New York."
