Now produced at HMGICS, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 enjoys the same "Made-in-Singapore" credentials as the Ioniq 5

HMGICS, Singapore - Like the Ioniq 5 (and Ioniq 5 Robotaxi), production of the swoopy Hyundai Ioniq 6 fastback has started in Singapore at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (or HMGICS for short).

The order book for the Singapore-made Ioniq 6 can be accessed via the HMGICS website from 4pm on July 19 2024 onwards, where customers can even book the "Skytrack" experience with the Ioniq 6.

The Ioniq 6 will be available in four trims: Inspiration (77 kWh, Cat B), Prestige (77 kWh, Cat B), Prestige (53 kWh, Cat A), and Exclusive (53 kWh, Cat A). HMGICS has also introduced a long-range Prestige (77 kWh) 2WD model with a WLTP range of up to 614km, versus the AWD version's 519km.

OTA vehicle software updates "delivers" the newest improvements to the car as soon as they are released, so features like the latest maps and infotainment features can be updated wirelessly and synchronised.

“Following the success and interest in the IONIQ 5 and the IONIQ 5 robotaxi, we are pleased to launch our next made-in-Singapore EV, the IONIQ 6, through HMGICS’s advanced manufacturing technologies with AI, Robotics, and Digital Twin. The IONIQ 6 marks another step in our efforts to introduce new, customised mobility experiences with our various stakeholders in the EV ecosystem. Along with the enhanced charging solutions our partners offer, we believe that the IONIQ 6 will offer an elevated quality and driving experience for customers in Singapore, easing the adoption of EVs and contributing to Singapore’s sustainable ecosystem and mobility journey,” said Dr. Hyun Sung Park, CEO of HMGICS (pictured above, third from the right).
