Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore
101 Siloso Road | 6275–0100 | www.shangri-la.com/singapore/rasasentosaresort

Wake up to the beauty of the South China Sea with a stay at the Deluxe Sea View Suite (from $950++ a night) at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa on Sentosa’s Siloso Beach.

Located in the east wing of the resort, the cosy living space has a separate living room furnished in warm tones that offer a pleasant contrast to the greenery outside. It also checks all the boxes for premium in-room features such as a Nespresso machine, plush king bed, designer toiletries and bath salts, and a pillow menu.

Although smaller by comparison to other suites in this price range at 63sqm, this suite, perfect for a family of four, certainly makes up for the lack in size with an expansive patio deck for sunbathing and outdoor dining, plus a hot whirlpool bath for ultimate resort indulgence.

Spa hedonists will enjoy a range of Asian-inspired face and body treatments at Chi, The Spa, while foodies can take their pick of international eats at Casserole, Silver Shell Café and Trapizza on the beach. Children six and under, accompanied by any parent who is a Golden Circle member, can enjoy free buffet meals at the all-day dining venues, while those under 12 will enjoy a 50% discount. This family-friendly resort offers a wide variety of activities for hyperactive children, from soaking in the sun and taking a dip in the natural water swimming pools to exploring its outdoor playground, and visiting the nearby Fort Siloso for a piece of Singapore’s history.

Raffles Hotel Singapore
1 Beach Road | 6337–1886 | www.rafflessingapore.com

If you haven’t booked a stay at Raffles Hotel since its reopening in 2019, now’s the chance to luxuriate in the refurbished Palm Court Suite (from $1,689++ a night) located next to the Main Building in the historic Palm Court wing.

All the little details that give these rooms their colonial charm still remain, from the all-white louvered doors and windows to the four-poster king bed and slow-rolling ceiling fan, not to mention the vintage-looking bathtub and double-basins in the all-marble bathroom.

The interiors in the 70sqm suite are made larger than life with 3m-high ceilings, and given a high-tech boost with a new iPad system which allows you to control the lighting, blinds and sheers, as well as summon your private butler. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary fruit platter, daily newspaper, the branded bathroom amenities, pillow menu and pantry stocked with complimentary soft drinks, Nespresso as well as tea from The 1872 Clipper Tea Co.

Verandah lounging is essential here where you can enjoy a cocktail along the shared corridor that overlooks the Palm Court’s expanse of green.

Raffles Hotel is also home to acclaimed bars and fine dining establishments: La Dame de Pic for French cuisine, Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse for Italian, Yì by Jereme Leung for modern Chinese, Butcher’s Block for avant garde woodfired cuisine, Tiffin Room for Northern India flavours, and more.

The St Regis Singapore
29 Tanglin Road | 6506–6888 | www.stregissingapore.com

The St Regis offers up three themed Specialty Suites located on the upper levels of the hotel for $1,900 a night. These 90sqm one-bedroom corner suites are masterfully furnished with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the city. Each customised detail of the décor is resplendent with details like the intricately carved cornices, rich tapestry of the drapes, opulent chandeliers and marbled furniture, not to mention stately living rooms, walk-in wardrobes and king-sized beds with feathered pillows and duvet.

In the middle of the opulent bathroom fitted with French Brenche de Benou marble vanity tops and double basins, you’ll notice a freestanding bathtub visible from the bedroom through a glass window. While you enjoy a soak, you can watch your favourite movie on an Ad Notam TV discreetly installed into a wall mirror in the bathroom. As with every stay here at the suites, guests will enjoy complimentary cocktails, round-the-clock butler service and free pressing of up to two garments.
