To mark the 75th Cannes Film Festival and Chopard’s 25th participation as an official partner, Caroline Scheufe- le, Chopard’s co-president and artistic director, has un- veiled the Red Carpet Collection. The theme for this year is “Chopard Loves Cinema” and it is the inspiration behind 75 Haute Joaillerie creations.
For her creations, Scheufele turns to the films that have had a lasting impact on her and the fabled scenes that have stuck in her memory. To do this she taps into some of the classic movies such as Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights and Cinderella, along with thriller master Alfred Hitchcock movies.
Earrings in titanium set with emeralds (9.78 cts), tsavorites (5.76 cts), jadeites (4.22cts), Paraiba tourmalines (3.49 cts) and orange sapphires.
The rose is given its time in the spotlight as it features in several pieces, including a choker composed of pink sapphire beads with a detachable floral motif that becomes a delicate brooch, along with a ring graced with exquisitely sculpted petals covered in pink sapphires protecting a two-carat diamond at the heart of the flower.
A tribute to the cinema greats would not be complete without references to wonderful childhood fairytales, endlessly revisited on-screen, Scheufele has dreamed up a pumpkin ring set with spessartite garnets and tsavorites. It opens in secret to reveal a diamond slipper, the essential accessory for reuniting the beautiful Cinderella with her Prince Charming. The epic story of the Dalmatians is given a jewellery interpretation in a bracelet featuring dogs sporting a coat of black and white diamonds — a feat that required no less than 470 hours of work by the maison’s jewellers.
