In focus

Oliver Peoples and Roger Federer have launched their Fall/Winter 2024 eyewear campaign and collection, showcasing the tennis icon against the warm golden light of Los Angeles, the hometown of Oliver Peoples.

This season, the collection expands with six new styles, including sunglasses, shields, and optical frames that redefine luxury performance eyewear. The designs feature innovative shapes like teardrop, upswept, and shield silhouettes. All lenses boast high optical quality and come in fresh colourways enhanced with technologies such as polarisation, mirrored effects, and gradient details.

Each piece showcases unique collaborative details that highlight the partnership’s signature style, including functional temples with a custom core wire pattern inspired by vintage tennis racquet strings, RF branding, octagonal-shaped temple tips reminiscent of tennis racquet ends, and rubber grip nose pads and temple tips for optimal fit during active wear.

Intergalactic fusion

KENZO's Fall/Winter 2024 collection embraces an intergalactic theme, using space travel as a metaphor to convey the cross-continental and multicultural essence at the core of the brand. This collection draws inspiration from the artistic exchange between East and West in both historical and fantasy cinema.

The campaign features Japanese-infused sci-fi uniforms such as a kimono coat inspired by the lines of a warrior’s cape, a fabric echoing the wood print of a traditional Japanese fireman’s jacket, and a pleated dress reminiscent of a sci-fi heroine’s cloak.

In a dialogue between outer space and Earth, tactile textures like faux fur and three-dimensional knitting are juxtaposed with metallic sci-fi elements. A miniature dot pattern inspired by the Edo Komon from fifteenth-century kimonos reappears as a star constellation in prints and embroideries. Space-ready flight jackets, cargo suits, and shearling jackets subtly incorporate the aesthetics of another universe, creating a captivating blend of fashion and fantasy.

Winter elegance

The Jil Sander+ Fall/Winter 2024 collection offers a range of functional pieces designed to complement Lucie and Luke Meier’s main Jil Sander lines. These garments, crafted from high-quality materials with thoughtful details, merge versatility, technical precision, comfort, and refined aesthetics.

Since taking the helm as creative directors in 2017, Lucie and Luke Meier have steered the Milan-based brand toward a modern interpretation of luxury, enhancing its minimalist legacy with elements of sensuality and craftsmanship. The collection encompasses ready-to-wear items, shoes, handbags, and accessories for both genders.

To capture the season’s essence, British photographer Nikki McClarron focuses on intimate moments, emphasising gestures within natural landscapes. Her lens harmonises the characters’ presence with their surroundings, reflecting the colours of the environment in the clothing.
