Acker Wines will return to Singapore for its second auction here on Oct 26. Set to be held at Japanese restaurant Wakuda in Marina Bay Sands, the Acker Singapore Anniversary Auction will take the form of a multi-course luncheon.
The 700 lots — with a total value of more than $4 million — that will go under the hammer are composed mainly of wines from prominent cellars. These include The Sovereign Cellar, which is offering over 200 original wood cases of premier Bordeaux, including 40 First Growth cases. (“First Growth” is a designation for top-tier, prestigious wines from select estates in the Bordeaux region, classified in 1855 for their exceptional quality.)
Burgundy enthusiasts, meanwhile, can look forward to lots from The Collection of the Chairman, such as prized Domaine de la Romanée-Conti wines, as well as ultra-rare finds like the 1996 Henri Jayer Cros Parantoux and 1993 Domaine Leroy Nuits St Georges.
Other highlights that will be available at this year’s auction include the 2018 Clos de la Roche and its magnum (double-sized) counterpart Clos de la Roche MCMLV — both from the Burgundian cellar of Domaine Hubert & Laurent Lignier — as well as the debut release of 2021 Alex Moreau Bâtard-Montrache from Domaine Moreau.
Leading up to the auction, Acker will also be hosting a series of dinners with rare wines on the menu. The first of these, focusing on Bordeaux, will take place on Oct 23, at CUT by Wolfgang Puck. The next day’s Burgundy-centric dinner will be held at KOMA, and the final session on Oct 25 will be a celebration of global wine at Maison Boulud.
