Limited edition collection of single malt whiskies
Diageo Rare & Exceptional
Get your hands on the second release of Diageo Rare & Exceptional’s Prima & Ultima collection featuring eight bottles of incredibly rare single malt Scotch whiskies drawn from the historic stock of Diageo’s finest distilleries across Scotland.
The growing Prima and Ultima collection gathers highly limited single vintage malts that are either the first or last bottling of their kind — each a piece of distilling history offering collectors and connoisseurs the opportunity to build an expertly curated liquid library over time.
This year includes new appearances from ghost distillery Convalmore, a piece of history from Auchroisk; a very rare Lagavulin; a Brora 1980 taken from the very last of the distillery’s casks from that year; The Singleton of Glendullan 1992 and Linkwood 1981.
Each full set of eight Prima & Ultima single vintage malts is accompanied by eight whisky glasses, each engraved with a bespoke design created in collaboration with two glass artists. Individual 20ml samples of each whisky are also included with a booklet of personal stories by head master blender Maureen Robinson.
Limited full sets of the Prima & Ultima Second Release are available for purchase at $39,500 from www.DiageoRareAndExceptional.com. If you are keen to acquire set number one personally autographed by Robinson herself, it will go under the hammer in an online auction by Sotheby’s Hong Kong from Sept 15 to 24, with all proceeds of the sale going to leading humanitarian charity Care International.

Art from around the globe
Lasalle College of the Arts
While the pandemic touched our existence in different ways and made off-screen exchanges difficult, it has also made us acknowledge our interdependencies as fundamental to art and life, shares Anca Rujoiu curator for the 15th edition of Tropical Lab.
The brainchild of Lasalle’s Senior Fellow, Milenko Prvacki, Tropical Lab is an intensive and highly engaging 14-day event that includes workshops, field trips and seminars, culminating in an exhibition hosted by the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore.
Entitled Interdependencies to capture the spirit of togetherness, companionship and resilience, the exhibition will feature the multi-disciplinary works of 25 international artists from the Tropical Lab alumni community. The prevalent themes in these exhibits — located at various parts of Lasalle’s campus like Brother Joseph McNally Gallery, Project Space, and Praxis Space — will revolve around key concerns of our time such as identity and belonging, ecological challenges and entangled histories.
Tropical Lab 15: Interdependencies will be on show till Oct 16 at the Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore at Lasalle College of the Arts. Admission is free.
Covid-inspired Indonesian art
Mizuma Gallery
Artworks are the manifestation of artists’ perspective and sensibility towards life and things around it. When an artist goes through significant changes in their life, their artworks will naturally change alongside. Some artists have taken on Covid-19 as a new source of inspiration for the narrative of their artworks, in the sense that it triggers a new perspective on how they look at the relationship between themselves and the life around them.
To get a glimpse of what we mean, go visit Mizuma Gallery to check out How are we doing?, a group exhibition curated by Hermanto Soerjanto featuring Indonesian artists Albert Yonathan, Entang Wiharso, Heri Dono, indieguerillas, Iswanto Soerjanto, and Iwan Effendi. Through the works of these six artists, we observe the relation between the changes in life brought about by the pandemic and the artists’ creative practice and their artworks.
How are we doing? will run till Oct 10 at Mizuma Art Gallery #01-34 Gillman Barracks. Admission is free.
