SINGAPORE (Mar 27): Know someone near and dear who needs a bit of cheering up? Give them time

Harry Winston

The King of Diamonds offers the Ocean Biretrograde Automatic 42mm which has 127 brilliant-cut diamonds that is highlighted by the opalescent white mother-of-pearl dial. On the dial are the hours and minutes counter on the upper half of the dial is encircled by three rings of brilliant-cut diamonds. The two retrograde counters on the lower half of the dial — indicating the seconds and the day of the week — are also housed in semi-circular counters, with diamonds on the borders and embellished with a wavy guilloché design. The Ocean Biretrograde Automatic 42mm is presented on an elegant alligator strap in a new shade of blue.

Breguet

Watchmaking is always at its finest at Breguet but the maison has upped its game with the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Plat Automatique 5367 . This timepiece features the traditional grand feu enamel technique on the deep blue dial of this extra-thin self-winding tourbillon. Any watch aficionado will tell you only a limited number of artisans are still capable of mastering this age-old process. The technique involves a lot of patience as there are many stages of grinding and cleaning, and a thin and consistent enamel is applied with a brush to the gold dial while still wet. It is then heated in a furnace at a temperature higher than 800°C. The final result is obtained by adding several layers of enamel until the desired colour is achieved.

Jaquet Droz

The Grande Seconde Skelet-One Ceramic has its design roots that go all the way back 2½ centuries ago. Over the years, many tweaks have been made but without compromising the maison’s rich heritage. This latest iteration has a ceramic case with a diameter of 41.5 mm that is just the right size to showcase the open movement in all its glory. Watch lovers will notice that the movement plate stretches all the way around the case, which means that it does away with the casing ring. With this new construction, the gear train is entirely suspended and fixed to the skeletonised bridges that cross over the movement. The black coating adds to the masculinity of the watch’s overall look.

Glashütte Original

Pay tribute to the woman in your life with the PanoMatic Luna. How can she not fall for the hand-crafted mother-ofpearl dial that is framed by nine rod indexes with 18 brilliantcut diamonds with 64 brilliant-cut diamonds on the bezel? The dial is fashioned from the inner layer of sea shells. The moon phase display is also elaborately crafted: The two silver-coloured moons are first cut out with a milling tool. Then the surface of the moons is polished with a diamond milling tool to give it that unique brilliance.

Omega

Nothing like a shot of colour to boost your overall look and Omega has just the collection for you. Seamaster Aqua Terra for men now comes in blue and green dials along with a wide selection of bracelets and straps. In keeping with Aqua Terra’s well-established aesthetic, both dials are sun-brushed and distinguished by a horizontal “teak” pattern, inspired by the wooden decks of luxury sailboats. The latest 41 mm stainless steel watches come with a choice of steel bracelet or matching-coloured leather strap. On purchase, customers can expect to receive a red card, as the driving force behind the dial is Omega’s Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (Metas). All Omega timepieces have a five-year warranty.

Longines

The latest version of the HydroConquest goes green and joins with the rest of the collection colours of blue, grey and black. The khaki model features a ceramic bezel insert that matches the colour of the dial and ties together the fully modernised design and sporty silhouette. Mounted on a stainless steel or green rubber strap, the watch, which is available in two sizes (41 or 43 mm in diameter), is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement (L888.3 calibre). To suit every wrist, Longines offers the model not only in khaki, but also in a brighter green hue.

Tissot

Tissot Gentleman has been described as a multi-purpose watch that is both ergonomic and elegant. You can wear it with a business attire or just a casual dress down weekends. The watch becomes part of the life of a modern, active man. Inspired by a 1960s model, this piece draws its inspiration from the dial of the original watch launched in the swinging sixties. Today, that decade continues to influence us and Tissot has given one of its heritage pieces a modern twist.
