SINGAPORE (Dec 3): The boating lifestyle has been on your mind a lot lately as you look forward to spending time with your friends on their yacht. So much so that you have now entertained thoughts of buying a boat for yourself and dream of taking off to a nearby island as and when you like.

If that sounds like you, then take a look at what Singapore yacht distributor Simpson Marine has to offer in the Gran Turismo collection under the Beneteau brand. Beneteau may be French, but it has an Italian super yacht designer: Nuvolari Lenard.

Gran Turismo 40
Take the driver’s seat in the GT 40 and you will notice that the central positioning of the driving console gives you a gorgeous view of the sea ahead. The spacious cockpit seats 11 people comfortably, making it a fun getaway with family and friends. In addition, the interior houses a cabin complete with a bed and two large windows.

A second cabin located aft can accommodate two single beds — ideal for the kids — or one double bed, making it suitable as a guest cabin when cruising with friends. The bathroom comes with a separate shower. Air-conditioning can be installed.

As for the tech specs, this handsome beast takes advantage of the next generation Air Step® 2 hull technology, which creates air beneath the hull to give the GT 40 greater performance with 1.5 more knots above maximum speed. In other words, you will save on fuel consumption.

Gran Turismo 46
The Gran Turismo 46 has a hardtop that can be opened while the windows along the side can be electrically operated to slide down so that you and your guests can enjoy the sea breeze or gaze at the stars at night. With Singapore’s heat, air-conditioned comfort is provided, and the windows protect the cockpit from the harsh rays of the sun. This model has two galley designs: aft or cockpit.

If you think the exterior is a beauty to behold, check out the interior: It has matte walnut wood and titanium, leather and lacquered furnishing details.

The boat is powered by the Air Step® 2 hull technology, which is compatible with Volvo IPS engines. The GT 46 is offered with either a Volvo IPS 600 or Z Drive engine, allowing up to 2 x 400 HP.

Gran Turismo 50
With the GT 49 no longer in production, the GT 50 has taken over the role of sport cruiser. It can travel at speeds of up to 29 knots comfortably, carrying 11 people. This is undoubtedly an elegant boat that has a full-space main deck and onboard technology with the new Ship Control system that is set to wow connoisseurs and attract new fans.

The interior is spacious and extremely comfortable, with a large number of windows and portholes that fill the lower deck with natural light. The main galley combines design and practicality with lots of storage space, a refrigerator and freezer and Corian® worktops. You can show off your cooking skills on this boat.

The two versions of the GT 50 — “saloon cosy” or three cabins — have a fullbeam owner’s suite with an en-suite shower room, as well as dressing room-style fittings. The quality and combination of materials, including deep-pore walnut woodwork and lots of decorative details, make this a must-have luxury boat.
