SINGAPORE (April 13): “One of my China partners, a resident of Gaobeidian, invited me to Gaobeidian in the early 2000s. I told him it was too early,” KSH’s executive chairman Choo Chee Onn tells The Edge Singapore.

The time is certainly ripe now.

Once the high-speed train from Gaobeidian to Beijing was completed in 2009/10, Choo took a second look. “We tried to secure some land close to the station,” he says, but was unable to do so.
