(May 11): Although Pakatan Harapan (PH) has won the general election convincingly, there could well be more political turmoil in the months ahead, say economists.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced on Friday that Malaysia’s king is willing to pardon jailed politician Anwar Ibrahim immediately.

Anwar is the de facto leader of the Pakatan Harapan alliance that won Malaysia’s election earlier this week, ending the Barisan Nasional’s six-decade rule.
