SINGAPORE (Aug 30): New Economy Forum, a conference of global business and political leaders in Beijing has been relocated to Singapore due to the fallout from the trade war between the United States and China, reported the New York Times.

Organised by Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire media executive and former mayor of New York City, the conference was launched to rival the World Economic Forum in Davos, the elite annual conclave in Switzerland.

According to NYT, invitations had already been sent to 400 business and political figures --  300 of them from outside China -- for the event to be held over two days in the first week of November.
