SMRT says quarterly maintenance works for pumps not carried out as scheduled

SINGAPORE (Nov 1): Quarterly maintenance works at its Bishan Water Discharge System were not conducted even though the maintenance records were signed off and submitted, according to SMRT’s preliminary report.

The maintenance works were scheduled for Dec 2016, March 2017 and June 2017.

“However, our investigation reveals that there were no track access approvals issued for preventive maintenance of the Bishan portal sump pumps for these dates,” says SMRT in a press statement on Tuesday night.
