SINGAPORE (Aug 16): By Jan 2018, UBS Group AG may charge its clients about US$40,000 ($54,690) a year for access to its basic markets in financial instruments directive (MiFID) research, according to Reuters.

Citing people with knowledge of the matter, Reuters says the financial services firm is proposing to charge an estimated US$35,000 to US$45,000 for about five users – while clients will have to pay additional fees depending on the level of service; frequency of usage; and calls or meetings with analysts.

The research pricing is still being negotiated and is subject to change, add the sources, and will vary widely depending on the size of the firm purchasing the package.
