Former manpower minister Lim Swee Say has joined corrugated paper manufacturing products manufacturer Tat Seng Packaging as a non-executive independent director from Oct 1.

The retired politician will also chair Tat Seng's nominating committee, and serve as a member of its audit & risk and remuneration committees.

“The board of directors is of the opinion that Lim can contribute positively to the company after reviewing the nominating committee’s recommendation and Lim’s qualifications, experience and suitability,” the company states in a regulatory filing.

The 66-year-old's appointment comes a day after he was named an independent director at real estate developer Ho Bee Land. He was also named an independent director at Singtel in June.
