Mandai Wildlife Group to uplift the visitor experience with Adyen

The Mandai Wildlife Group has selected Adyen to power online and in-person payment experiences at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, home to Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, and Bird Paradise.
This has expanded the group’s reach and accessibility by enabling a wider range of payment methods. Today, all major credit cards, as well as Alipay, UnionPay and WeChat Pay are accepted across all in-person sales touchpoints at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, enabling simpler and faster transaction experiences for guests. This includes retail shops, self-service kiosks at food joints, and mobile point-of-sale terminals that allow visitors to buy animal feed, among others.

Additionally, the group can trace visitors’ journeys and spending patterns across different parks as sales transactions from all touchpoints feed into Adyen’s single platform. Having a more holistic understanding of their visitors helps the group shape strategic business decisions.
“Large-scale tourist destinations are often swamped when it comes to making sense of the sheer volume of customer information. By unifying data across different channels to a single platform with Adyen, they can spot clearer spending preferences by their customers to make informed decisions,” says Priyanka Gargav, Adyen’s Singapore country manager and head of commercial for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
Adyen also handles the bulk of PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) requirements by storing sensitive card details in a secure, PCI-compliant environment. This translates to less time spent on implementation and certification for PCI compliance by the Mandai Wildlife Group, while ensuring that it is ahead of increasingly sophisticated fraud attacks.

Red Hat to support DSO National Laboratories’ DevSecOps journey

DSO National Laboratories (DSO) — Singapore’s national defence research and development organisation — is working with Red Hat to develop new DevSecOps capabilities.
DevSecOps is an IT approach that combines development, operations and system security practices. It encompasses culture, automation and platform design while integrating security considerations as a shared responsibility throughout the IT lifecycle.
Through the partnership, Red Hat will support DSO’s DevSecOps development through the adoption of a trusted hybrid cloud solution that improves integration and interoperability among systems.
Using Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and Red Hat Device Edge (early access) in addition to Red Hat training services, organisations like DSO can leverage enterprise open-source software to enhance automation processes and bridge old and new IT systems to deliver timely, mission-critical applications and services.

DSO also aims to develop and deploy software more quickly to respond to evolving mission conditions in the field. This will be enabled by Red Hat Device Edge, which delivers enterprise-ready, lightweight Kubernetes container orchestrations. It builds on the MicroShift project to support different use cases and workloads on small, resource-constrained devices at the farthest edge. By using it together with technologies such as Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, DSO will be able to further extend container applications to even more remote areas running on resource-constrained devices.

Petronas taps on OutSystems to accelerate low-code app development

Petronas Digital, the digital arm of Malaysia’s Petronas, is partnering OutSystems to promote and accelerate low-code app development in the Petronas Group.
OutSystems will provide training materials, research, and other know-how processes on the usage of its low-code platform for Petronas’ Citizen Developer Program. Citizen developers are employees with little to no coding experience who create applications with low-code platforms. This democratises the development process and empowers the organisation to pursue technology-based innovation.
OutSystems will also award certifications to new developers who have demonstrated the ability to use its platform effectively.
