ISDN Holdings, an industrial automation firm, announced that its subsidiary, TDS Technology (Thailand) has launched the Smart Greenhouse and Learning Centre (Smart Greenhouse Centre) in partnership with the Thailand Government’s Department of Skill Development.
The Smart Greenhouse Centre is a 70-million-baht ($2.6 million) project, and when completed, will have a total of 95 locations across Thailand. The agriculture sector employs over 12.3 million people in Thailand, representing over 30% of the nation’s workforce. It makes up the largest portion of the Thai agri-food sector, accounting for 41% of its total contribution to gross domestic product (GDP).
ISDN and the Thailand Government have partnered to future proof this vital economic sector for an advanced industrial future by leveraging on smart technology.
The programme includes facilities to upskill the agricultural sector, providing programmes and opportunities to help the workforce develop the right digital skills to transform the industry, and become fully integrated agricultural operators.

“The Smart Greenhouse and Learning Centre will be able to tap into the extensive farming knowledge of Thailand’s agricultural industry, while supporting local farmers’ upskilling efforts with our technology expertise,” he adds.

Powered by solar energy, the centre uses Industry Internet of Things (IIoT) technology to sustainably automate operations, including water pumps, monitoring sensors, and IP cameras. The centre will also provide training and resources for those interested in adopting IIoT agriculture technology and renewable energy systems.
The Smart Greenhouse Centre will also deploy advanced TV White Space (TVWS) networking from ISDN’s Whizpace business to connect smart agriculture devices securely and reliably across all-year weather conditions. Whizpace’s TVWS technology connects industrial internet of things (IIoT) devices reliably and cost-effectively for up to 10 km of range, providing an ideal solution for digitalising widespread agricultural work fields.
