Montblanc pays tribute to a great author
Montblanc’s 26th Writers Edition pays homage to the genius of French writer and pioneering aviator Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, Vicomte de Saint-Exupéry (1900 to 1944). He is best remembered for his novella Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince), one of the bestselling children’s books and most translated works in the world. Referencing the year Saint-Exupéry earned international acclaim as the author of Night Flight, every element of the fountain pen is a nod to the multi-talented man. This includes the rivet engravings, cockpit-inspired fittings and skeletonised cap that has a window through which the nib can be seen – reminiscent of the cockpit window from which he gazed into the starry skies. The engraving on the cap is one of his self-portraits while his hand drawing for Le Petit Prince inspired the engraving on the barrel, a tribute to the author, who was also a skilled illustrator.

For the women
The Seamaster by Omega celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and the Aqua Terra timepiece is the main focus. The women’s collection offers 30 new models in different sizes. Each comes with design twists and, in most models, a Master Chronometer upgrade that offers impressive levels of precision and performance. The dials feature mother-of-pearl and 14 colours, and the symmetrical cases have been redesigned to achieve a seamless integration with the feminine-style bracelet.

Two in one
The microdelivery detoxifying oxygen peel by philosophy is both a mask and peel. Created to detox and re-oxygenate the skin, this two-step peel contains activated charcoal that draws out all the skin’s impurities. It costs $89 and is available at Sephora outlets.

Leather wear
La coste, known for its fashionable sportswear, has introduced leather goods for him and her. For fall/winter 2017, the women’s bags range from functional items for the office to more casual styles for the gym as well as a dinner date after.

Novel scent
Inspired by Marguerite Yourcenar’s novel, The Memoirs of Hadrian, classic fragrance Eau d’Hadrien EDT by Annick Goutal is a bestseller — and with good reason. The fresh and sparkling blend was produced in 1981 by Annick Goutal and Francis Camail to evoke the emotions expressed by Emperor Hadrian, protagonist of the novel. Bringing all this to life, the intriguing scent combines Sicilian lemon and grapefruit with subtle notes of citron and cypress. It is perfectly complementary for both men and women.

Hallmark of quality
When it comes to the art of watchmaking, Vacheron Constantin has the art down pat, as shown in the Traditionelle 14-day Tourbillon Dragon. The maison tapped its 260-year history of hand-carving to create a pink gold dragon and floating clouds. The mechanical hand-wound timepiece is run by Calibre 2260 and has the Hallmark of Geneva, a standard of excellence award that guarantees quality of craftsmanship, durability and expertise.
