Brunello Cucinelli taps three decades of fashion to bring us a look that is evergreen

(July 29): Brunello Cucinelli has always focused on the classics, which never go out of style. We have all heard of someone who has had a blazer for years but looks like it was purchased only yesterday. The Italian brand’s fall/winter 2019 womenswear collection highlights its rich heritage combined with minimalist luxury design. For example, voluminous shapes give way to pared down looks suitable for the fall/winter weather.

There are turtlenecks, deep V-necks, ruffle sweaters, fringes and Northern European patterns that look like they were taken from the pages of a 1970s fashion magazine. Pair these with high-rise pants, jackets and coats with big shoulders, waist belts and fanny packs, which are a throwback to the 1980s. For 1990s inspiration, there are a lot of black and white outfits and nappa leather. Colours used are winter whites, dark neutral hues and warm nuances of beige, tobacco and camel. These are mixed with a variety of tone-on-tone shades injected with bright accents.

CHARGE IT

In collaboration with tech accessory purveyor Native Union, Berluti has launched its Leather Wireless Charger Kit, made of Venezia calfskin. The charger works for all Qi-compatible devices

BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW

Louis Vuitton has launched a collection of sunglasses for men called Rainbow, with a message of inclusivity. Fully crafted in Italy, the sunglasses are available in a spectrum of colours. This broad range of colours represents the celebration of difference and variety that defines its men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh’s vision of welcoming everyone into the Louis Vuitton community. The square fit comes in black, camel, red and yellow while the pilot style comes in crystal, blue and orange.

NEW FACE

Billie Eilish, the pint-sized American singer, is luxury leather goods company MCM’s new model. The 17-year-old’s music has been gaining much attention. Her haunting song Ocean Eyes, released in 2016 on SoundCloud, received a lot of air time. Recognising this, MCM has made Eilish the face of its autumn/winter 2019 campaign.

SKIN TREAT

We all appreciate some help when it comes to our complexion. The Miracle Masque lightens dark spots, gives skin a glow and softens its texture. We tried it and the face feels slightly tighter and looks brighter. Use the mask on clean skin and leave it for 10 minutes before rinsing it off. We highly recommend you use that 10 minutes to relax — play soothing music or lie down. The masque costs $40 and is available at all SW1 clinics and sw1shop.com/ collections/new/products/miracle-masque.

THE DRAGON AWAKENS

Here is a very rare opportunity to view the magnificent 54.21-carat Mouawad Dragon diamond — thus named because the yellow colour is vibrant and in the same shade as the dragon’s fiery eyes. The largest round brilliant-cut diamond in the world, it is now part of the Mouawad Dragon Suite, comprising a four-piece ensemble of bracelet, earrings, ring and necklace. The diamond was crafted from the rough by skilled artisans at Mouawad.
